5 Star Subject: Good Book...I liked it Date: December 19, 2003 Name: Anonymous Once I began this extraordinary book, I could not put it down. "Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire for Designers" is so much more than a gripping learning textbook. With his impeccable research, the author introduces us to aspects of designing. I, for one, had never known existed...or even thought about. I found myself, unwillingly, leaving the book, and time and time again, going online to view his website- only to find a new world of tips and techniques opening up for me. What a trip! What a read! The book, take us through Feature creation commands, editing commands and far back to even sketching. We learn about the secrets of design intent. The writing is
excellent. Just learn it from first chapter to last and enjoy the world of
product designing using Pro/E! |

5 Star Subject: Learn Pro/E Wildfire efficiently Date: December 19, 2003 Name: Anonymous I am using Pro/ENGINEER since release 2000i and when I got Wildfire I thought I will learn it myself. But after playing with it for some time, I realized that I need some text to refer to. Then I got hold of this book. It is one of the best books available that someone can use to learn Wildfire. This book describes the solid modeling tools in Wildfire in detail with a lot of images and the language used is easily understandable. While working on engineering projects, I find this book very handy and I can refer to the explanation for modeling tools that are generally needed for most of the mechanical engineering projects. In addition to the explanation to the modeling tools, there are tutorials in the book with step-by-step explanation. A number of tips and notes are given in this book that helped me in increasing my efficiency. By using this book I not only learned to use Wildfire but also learned to use it efficiently. The Detailing and Drafting portion of Wildfire is also explained with lot of details, making it easy for me to generate various types of drawing views of assemblies and solid models. The chapter on surface
modeling that is available for free download also seems to be good with 2
tutorials although I have not started learning them. But seeing the images
they seem to be good. |

5 Star Subject: Well organized text Date: October 31, 2002 Name: Anonymous This book is a well written and a well thought approach for the basic users of Pro/E or for those who have just started working with Pro/E. The chapters in the book are well organized and allow the reader to gradually get the knowledge required to work with solid modeling. The depth of explanation of options and tools available in Pro/E is good and the writing style is easy to understand. Author has made good use of screen captures and figures throughout the book. The captures of the sketches may not be that clear, but surely convey the message that they intend to. Sham has made a good practice to use real-world components in his books, which is a wonderful approach from reader's point of view. Some exercises on a bit more difficult side may be useful to the readers, as they will really test the knowledge of the user. In addition, some complicated and large assemblies may also be helpful for the users. In all, a great effort in making a complex solid modeling tool easy for readers and surely a good buy by all means. |
